Underglaze Transfers

In this class, participants learn how to make hand-built plates using the slab roller and molds. Plates are then decorated with a variety of underglaze transfer images. The underglaze transfers become permanent when fired.

Each piece will be glazed with a non-toxic, food safe clear glaze.  The 2-hour long class includes time for demonstrations, Q & A, and cleanup. Tuition per person, per session includes clay, tools, materials, bisque and glaze firings.

Pieces will be fired twice and glazed with a clear, food-safe, non-toxic glaze. Arrangements for project pick up will be scheduled, normally within 2 weeks of the workshop.

Cost: $85.00 per person/per session

Watercolor Cards

In this 2-hour long class, participants will work on up to 5 small watercolor cards for the holidays. Working on both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry methods, participants will explore their unique sense of design. The vibrant pigments used are derived from plants and are non-toxic. Acid-free 400 lb. watercolor paper will be used to “hold” the pigments in place while allowing for the freedom to explore the blending of color on the page. Tuition per person, per session includes light refreshments, all materials, time for demonstrations, Q and A and clean up.

Cost: $85.00 per person

The Moe-Donna Series

Accessing the Divine Feminine

For this exciting workshop series, I will be joined by renowned clay artist and Wise-Woman, Donna D'Orio. Beginning and  with a brief introduction and review of the human being’s subtle-body energy system, we will move to a guided meditation specific for the Chakra we are focusing on during our class times together, lead by Donna, Keeper of  this Wisdom Medicine.

Next, participants will move to the Ceramic Studio, located on my property at Berkanna, and will create a handmade ceramic bowl using a slump mold. After a brief demonstration on how to create this form with clay, participants will choose from among several underglaze images to lightly press onto the outside of their bowl forms.  These images will become permanent after firing. A simple lunch will be provided during which ceramic pieces will air dry.

After lunch, bowls will be removed from the forms and participants will then decide on a color in which to paint the inside of their bowl.

Pieces will be fired twice and glazed with a clear, food-safe, non-toxic glaze. Arrangements for project pick up will be scheduled, normally within 2 weeks of the workshop.

Working with Archetypes

In this class, I will bring my three decades experience working with Oracle Cards, some of the oldest forms of archetypal imagery human beings have utilized to gain clarity and understanding.

After a brief introduction to this practice, attendees will learn different card spreads, their personal and growth year archetype(s), archetypal constellation, and ways of working with these decks. Ideally, participants will break into pairs and do readings for each other if time permits. Attendees are encouraged to bring decks they already have or are familiar with, but this is not required.

Cost: $85.00 per person
